back to the pool!

We all jumped in the pool today...it's a little cold but not as bad as I thought. Once I got the initial shock over, it was fine! It feels good to swim again :)

Sydney and Carter had a blast! They love jumping off the side of the pool...then eventually went to off the diving board! I believe they would stay out there all day if you let them!

breaking in the pool...

It was hot today so while Sydney was at school I asked Carter if he wanted to get in the pool...of course he said YES!!

Allie was sleeping so I figured he could swim a bit before she woke up...it was a little cold getting in but he was swimming around in no time!

Photobucket

Allie woke up a bit later and lounged by the pool for awhile :)
(she didn't really sit this close to the edge or stay in the sun...this is for looks only)

At the movies...

Sydney's girl scout troop took a trip to the movies this afternoon! They used some of the money raised selling cookies to see the new Shrek movie in 3D...they even got popcorn, candy and a drink! The girls were so excited!! They looked funny wearing their glasses :)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Carter and I went too...he thought the glasses were pretty cool :)
Photobucket

All the girls sat together in the same row...they looked so cute! It was a fun afternoon! We all love going to the movies!

hanging out...

While Kevin was at church tonight the rest of us hung around outside. I love wearing Allie in the carrier...my hands are free to do things and Allie is happy since someone is "holding her".

I was taking pictures of Sydney and Carter riding bikes and Sydney decided she wanted to take a picture of me and Allie.

Photobucket

Of course, Carter had to take one too...

the dudes at work...

Carter loves hanging out with Kevin on his Friday's off. He sticks to him like glue and calls themselves "the dudes".

This week, they did a lot of work outside...they started off by trimming the tree by the patio and hauling the branches off.

Carter sure does love to work outside...I hope this continues for many more years ;)

They also hauled off the trash, mowed some grass and worked in the garden. By the end of they day they were pretty sweaty and stinky. Typical for a couple of dudes. :)

4 weeks

Photobucket

Photobucket

Not much has changed since last week...
Her neck is definitely getting stronger. She can hold her head up a bit longer now.
Likes watching her mobile
Has definitely started smiling at people...she smiles at Sydney and Kevin the most. I hang out with her all day and she just stares at me. Go figure. ;)

just dance...

I got a new game for the wii...it's called Just Dance. It's about 30 songs with dance moves for you to follow along.

We all look pretty ridiculous doing it but it is soooo funny...especially these two...

what a mess...

Sydney and Carter have spent the past few days playing in the mud. It's been fun cleaning them up before bedtime...the bath water is brown! :p They sure do have a good time though! Yesterday they made mud pies in the dump trucks and Carter's wheelbarrow and today they made a mud hole.

comparison...

This is a coincidence but I was looking at Carter's baby pictures and I have a picture of both Carter and Allie at 5 days old sitting in the boppy. Wow...what a difference!! :)

3 weeks...

Photobucket

*She is holding her head up for a bit longer now, trying to be nosy and look around ;)
*Makes a few little cooing noises
*I've seen her smile at me few times while she was awake. Not sure if she means to or not but it sure is cute!

Allie was content in her crib for awhile today just watching her mobile...
Photobucket

She also seems to be little miss popular! Sydney and Carter just flock around her :)

rub-a-dub-dub...

chunky girl in the tub!!

Photobucket
Allie got her first tub bath yesterday...her cord fell off Tuesday night so we scrubbed her up good tonight!

She actually needed a bath because about 10 minutes earlier she had a massive poop explosion...it got all over her and Sydney (who was holding her at the time!!) We told Sydney that if she was holding her while she pooped she had to change her diaper but she disappeared soon after that! ;)

Anyway, she got all clean and then I rubbed her down with nighttime baby lotion which smells so good! Must be nice to be so pampered....

so many pictures, so little time...

I just looked in my may picture folder...I've already taken around 400 pictures this month. You should see the number in April's folder...let's just say, it's alot! I am slowly trying to go through them all but I basically just pick a few favorites to blog...guess one day I'll have some spare time ;)

Allie slept from 10:30 to 4:15 Monday night! I woke up and thought I felt halfway decent and about fell out of the bed when I looked at the clock! Allie was kinda grumbling in her sleep so I went ahead and woke her up to feed her! Wish that would happen every night!

Her cord finally fell off too! A tub bath is in her near future!! :)

Mother's Day

Today was the baby dedication at church...Kevin took Sydney and Carter to Sunday School this morning. Since Allie is only 2 weeks old I took her for the dedication and then we left :) Julie took pictures and I am anxious to see them!

When everyone got home we snapped a quick picture together...

My mother's day present is a trip to a place here in Forest for a 1 hour massage. Ahhhhhhh....I cannot wait! When it's over, they will probably have to pry me off that table! :) (I am not kidding)

pure shock...

Photobucket

Julie put together a surprise birthday party for dad's 60th birthday. He thought he was coming to eat dinner at Julie's with the family for his birthday/mother's day. He walked in the door and was shocked to see a room full of people yelling "surprise!!" He was speechless for quite a while :)

What a great surprise!!

Mother's Day Tea

Today was the Mother's Day Tea at school. When we got there, Sydney gave me all kinds of presents! She had planted a flower for me, made a vase in art class, had a silhouette of her profile, and had a letter for me. Then we had little snack foods to eat while the kids got up one by one and read the letters to their moms! It was so cute!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Her letter to me said:
Dear Mom. I love you. You are sweet and funny. I like it when you we swim in the pool. You are special because we have a baby. Happy Mother's Day. Love, Sydney

2 weeks old...

Photobucket

*when holding her against my chest, she will raise her head up for a few seconds to look around
*still sleeping good...around every night at 2:30 or 3 she'll wake up to eat then we go back to sleep and get up again about 6.
*Allie loves the swing! Sydney could spend hours napping in the swing but Carter never really liked it much (and was so heavy you had to put the thing on 'high' to get it to actually move, ha ha!).
*her little 0-3 month clothes fit pretty good...I love putting her in dresses!

my little chicks (and dude)...

hard workin' man...

Yesterday after we came home from taking Sydney to school Carter went back in his room to put on his "work pants" with the holes in the legs and his work shirt so he could go outside and play in the dirt.

Apparently he made a stop by the bathroom sink first then came in my room with water dripping off his face. He looked at me dead serious and said, "my hair is all wet because I'm hot and sweaty." I looked at him for about 15 seconds to see if I could crack his serious expression, but couldn't do it. So I busted out laughing at him and he just had the biggest goofy grin on his face. Every time I think about that it makes me giggle...

Photobucket

We ventured out yesterday and hit up Chick-fil-a for lunch...we just ate in the car but it was still good!! Then I made a quick trip to Kohl's to get a few shirts...this in between stage is annoying. My short sleeved maternity shirts are all huge and my regular clothes don't fit either so I got a few shirts to wear in between. Carter was a good helper and Allie slept the whole time which was nice!

Oh, and on the way home from picking up Sydney from school I got a flat tire!! Luckily it happened close to home so we weren't stranded anywhere. When Sydney opened the back door I could hear the air hissing out of the tire. It was completely flat in about 10 minutes. Sydney and Carter went to look at it later on and came back and said, "well, the top of the tire is ok, but the bottom is completely flat!!" ha ha!!

quiet house...

Carter went to grandma and grandaddy's house today to watch Doug (on the backhoe) dig the pond down in the field. I think he spent all day outside which is his kind of day!!

Allie and I on the other hand stayed home and did a few things around the house. Then I got smart and laid down to take a nap!! Of course, at that moment her eyes popped right open but it was nice to just lay there and do nothing and halfway doze off. She eventually got the hint and took a little cat nap herself! It was quite nice :)

Photobucket

She has been pretty easy on me so far (knock on wood). For the past few nights she has only gotten up once to nurse. We go to bed about 10:30 and she will wake up around 1 or 2 to eat then we're back to sleep again! She wakes up again about 5 or 6. Since I am taking Sydney to school this week I just stay up at that point and get myself dressed and Sydney and Carter ready to go. She eats again right before we leave for school. I was kind of dreading this week without Kevin here but the past 2 days haven't been too bad. I know we will have bad days but at least we're off to a good start!

Such a cute mouth and little chin!!

t-ball

Sydney had her first t.ball game last Saturday. We missed the last practice and game when Allie was born so this was her first time in her uniform playing a real game. I was surprised...those kids are good! The other team slid into home plate everytime they ran the bases! Sydney hit good but she needs some work out in the field!! She seemed a little overwhelmed at everything that was going on!

Photobucket

We play around hitting and catching at home but tonight I took her to the field at JF and let her practice on a real field. She hit, ran the bases and then I hit some for her to field and throw to first base. It was fun just the two of us playing around...hopefully she will have a better idea of what to do next time!! :)

one week old...

Photobucket

a week already??

wow...can't believe it's already been a week!

Here's miss long and lean...
Photobucket

She's been such a good baby this week...her day consists of eating, sleeping, pooping and when she's awake she is very content to look around. She is also very tolerant of Emma barking and Sydney and Carter talking to her round the clock :) The nights are even pretty consistent...go to bed at 10ish, up at 12, 3 and 6 give or take an hour. One night we went to bed at 10, she woke up to eat at 2:30 and didn't wake back up until 6!! I'll take that!!

Photobucket

We went to the doctor on Thursday and she weighed 8lbs 4 oz...when we left the hospital she was 7.13, so she gained all her weight back in a week! Dr. M said that was great and it usually took 10-14 days to do that. He said maybe I should teach a nursing class or have twins...ummm, no thank you!! Everything else looked great and she goes back at 2 months! I will probably take her back next month to be weighed though, just for curiosity.

Sydney and Carter have had a good week too...
We hit up the new Kroger for some milk, bread and Sprite the other day...I might send Carter to do all my grocery shopping from now on...
Photobucket

Carter has loved having Kevin home this week. He wears his "work pants" with the holes in the knees every day following Kevin around. They have mowed the grass, cut down trees, planted the garden, mulched the front of the house and pulled weeds! It's been a productive few days!
Photobucket

Sydney was happy for Kevin to take her to school this week...she kisses Allie goodbye in the morning and skips over to see her when she gets home! She likes for me to talk for Allie so they can have little conversations. Her favorite is when Allie says, "I am beautiful and you are just cute!" Sydney just busts out laughing at her!! Then she comes back and says, "oh yeah, well I wear underwear and you wear a diaper!!" They go back and forth picking on each other and it's soooo funny!!

She had a date with Grandma on Thursday...it was Princess Night at Chick-fil-a. If you dress like a princess you got a free kids meal. Sydney came home and put on her Belle dress and pulled out her ponytail and brushed her hair straight. Then she put on a ring and some bracelets and she was ready to go!
Photobucket

They got there right when it started and mom said they went all out!! Red carpet outside going up to the door, Miss Lynchburg was there talking to everyone, the cow was taking pictures with people and there were princesses everywhere!! They were even doing limo rides for girls who had signed up earlier! Quite impressive! Carter was going too but changed his mind at the last minute...he wanted to stay home and work in the garden with Kevin. He requested a chocolate milkshake though, so they brought one back for him!

Anyway, that's been our week so far. Miss Allie seems to fit right in and Sydney and Carter love having a little sister! And I am I so glad not to be pregnant anymore!!!!!!
