busy, busy...

After getting home from the beach on Sunday, we started Bible school yesterday! It's fun but man I am worn out by the end of the day!!

We had a blast at the beach last week!

To say that Sydney loves the ocean is a huge understatement! She was a total beach bum this year...spending most of the day in the water with a few quick breaks to eat a snack or two or play in the sand for a bit. The first morning (after waking up at apx. 6:30!!), she ate breakfast then made a beeline for the bedroom to put her bathing suit on! Then she proceeded to bring everyone else their bathing suit and ask how much longer till we could leave for the beach! Lucky for us she went easy on us the rest of the week!



Carter was a little cautious of the water at first! We went to the beach Sunday evening after dinner and unlike last year it took him a few minutes to feel totally comfortable. But once he got his feet wet again, he was hooked! He spent time driving his CAT truck in the sand and digging holes with daddy! And of course, he took a break here and there! (that's our tent in the background...the beach wasn't very crowded!!)


They didn't have to worry...mama was always watching!


Sydney also made a new friend at Build-a-Bear...meet the newest member of the flock, Myrtle!


And Carter drooled over tractors in the John Deere store...


Ahhhhh....it was sad to come home!!

my ugly chair...

I rescued this poor chair from a yard sale last weekend. It probably would have ended up in a cold dark basement somewhere all alone...

I'm sure the owner thought she'd never sell it...in fact, we laughed about it a little, saying it sure was "retro" and "vintage". I think it's pretty awesome though :)

the best dollar I ever spent...

I found a slip-n-slide at a yard sale last weekend. So we pulled it out today and got the water going!

It was a blast! I even gave it a try to show them how it worked! ha ha! It's been a long time since I've been on one of those ;)

They loved it!

Sydney caught on pretty quick!


Then she showed Carter what to do!

That would be Sydney getting a hot towel treatment and a hand massage with lotion before her haircut yesterday!

When she got home Kevin asked her how she liked that. She said... well, it kinda felt like it was gonna burn my eyes out! :)

hot, hot, hot!

It's been so hot this week...in the 90's!! We had to break out some ice cream the other day to cool off some ;)



Sydney loves this little kitten to death! Despite the terrified look on his face, he must like her too...he always follows her around!


It's so funny to watch her with the kittens because she talks really silly to them! She is trying to come up with a name too...so far she's suggested:
Lala
Soupka
Sooki
Bob
Bobbby
Jerry.

interesting, huh? We'll keep working on it...

kindergarten...here we come!

Today was Sydney's kindergarten orientation. While the parents had their meeting, the kids went with the teachers to check out the classroom and make a little craft. Then they went through the cafeteria for a graham cracker/oj snack. Then came time to ride the school bus! Everyone was all smiles getting off the bus!
