snow day!

Finally.....a day to just stay home! It has been sooo cold this week and I was getting a little tired of shuttling everyone around in the 20 degree weather!

Allie and I were sitting on the couch this morning and Sydney came in and said, ohhhhhh, it's snowing!!! Carter came in a little while later and the snow was the first thing he noticed too! It was snowing sooo hard!

When Allie went down for her nap we bundled up and headed outside! They had fun just running around in the snow!



They were on full speed!


Emma too!!


Sydney grabbed some snow and tried to make a snowball...Carter was the target!


But it was very powdery and wouldn't stick...poof!

After we were sufficiently frozen, we came in for some hot chocolate with marshmallows.


Allie woke up too...


The snow slowed down by this point and it was starting to sleet...I bundled Allie up and took her outside for a few minutes...

she wasn't too impressed ;)

During Allie's other nap, we made a cute little reindeer.


Carter practiced writing his name too...


Glitter is so messy but we kept it pretty well under control, thank goodness!


When Allie woke up I traced her hands and foot and made one for her too...it was so little and cute!


We did a little sleigh riding in the afternoon too...there was a nice sheet of ice on top of the snow! That was fun!

When Kevin got home he made a fire...ahhhh. I love snow days...hoping for some more soon!

Hark the herald, beagles sing...

Emma got all snazzed up for her Christmas picture today. She is as goofy as the kids...she would look to the left, look to the right, blink, bark, open her mouth, stick her tongue, etc, etc!! Crazy beagle!!



I finally got one of her though!!


Allie was actually a little more cooperative ;)



Then she was sitting by Emma scratching her back...Emma got all excited (she loves a good back scratch) and backed up and knocked Allie over! It was pretty funny!



And she's outta here...

baby, it's cold outside!!!!

It has been so cold this week! It's been in the teens in the morning and 20's/30's during the day! Allie has to get bundled up before we head outside...she looks pretty snug in there! This was taken tonight on the way to church...

somebody's crawling...

She has been rocking on her hands and knees for a few weeks now but tonight she finally started crawling! We all laughed at her cause she would lift her arm up really high and put it down then scoot her knees forward a little bit! She looks quite proud of herself ;)

allie's other mama...

Sydney begged me to let her feed Allie one night last week. It actually worked out well because I was getting ready to fix dinner anyway. She is a good little helper and Allie doesn't care who feeds her as long as she gets to eat, ha! Sydney is a good little mama :)

Snow!!

We ended up with a couple inches of snow on Saturday...it was so pretty!

The snow didn't stick around for long though. Carter has worn his snowsuit inside and outside all weekend (imagine that!) This morning, there was just a little bit left in the front yard...we need more snow so this child can play!! :)

Christmas Parade

Today was the Bedford Christmas Parade...Sydney and her Daisy Girl Scout troop were part of it this year! The girls made angel wings and halos and rode in a trailer. It was a pretty cold day and we even saw some snow flurries :) The girls all had blankets for the ride and they had fun yelling out Merry Christmas to everyone!!

Kevin was playing with the new computer and made a video for me. We laugh at the Sugarland song, Stuck Like Glue since that seems to be Allie's theme song for me.

We laughed so hard watching this!!

just dance...

We fired up the Just Dance game on the Wii tonight...it is so funny! They took turns picking songs and dancing their little hearts out! I jumped in for a few songs too...definitely a workout!

Sydney's favorite is "I Like to Move It, Move It" and Carter has 2 favorites..."Step by Step" (New Kids on the Block) and "Louie Louie".

They take it seriously ;)

I'm back...

and I am blogging on the couch tonight! :) We finally got a laptop since the desktop was acting all crazy on us. Then it took over a week and hours on the phone with verizon to get it set up wirelessly. (looooong story) And it is pretty dang cool to sit on the couch and get online.

Anyway, I am just picking some pictures to blog. These are from last Tuesday...Carter had his Thanksgiving celebration at preschool. They sang some songs for all the parents then we had a "feast" in the fellowship hall.

Carter loved the songs...his favorite was

Sydney got to see Mrs. Holden again after 2 years! She was so excited!


Then we came home and played in the leaves for a little while.




We went ahead and hauled the leaves to the woods since it was supposed to rain that night. They hauled some on the gator and I did the rest...

After that, we came in to finish hanging the ornaments on the Christmas tree. I noticed that Carter was moving slow but I thought he was just tired of decorating. Then he went and sat on the couch. I looked over at him and his eyes were all big and he put his hand over his mouth...uh oh.
I told him to run to the bathroom...that's about when the puking began. Nice. At least most of it was contained.

Then he went to lay on the couch and rest. Poor thing.


He woke up when he puked on himself. That was reeeal fun too.

Anyway, I did a lot of cleaning that afternoon and he was fine by the next morning. At least it came and went quick.

What a day!!

This is usually what I find when Allie wakes up from her nap...


and then I get a little closer and she just gets so excited to see me!!


She has turned into a pretty good little napper. Between months 2 and 3 it was a little rough, some days she did not want to sleep! And there was no such thing as cry it out...she just cried!! :p But then we took a turn for the better and now she takes a morning and afternoon nap every day. And boy is she a happy girl after those naps!! And I'm a happy mama ;)

my computer is dying

I want to blog so bad but the computer is on the way out I think. So my computer time is short and sweet these days...I get too frustrated when I sit here waiting and waiting for it to cooperate. Hope to have something a little more user friendly soon...

Shutterfly's New Holiday Cards!

It's about that time to start thinking about my Christmas cards!  I have ordered 4x6 prints through Shutterfly before and have always been pleased with them.  Last year I even made a calendar and was very impressed...the quality was great!  So this week I have been checking out Shutterfly's huge selection of Christmas cards!  They have such a great variety and they are all so cute!!  I don't know how I'm going to decide what to order!

I have always sent out picture cards...sometimes with one family photo and sometimes a card with several openings for pictures.

I really like this 5x7 card called Spot the Snowflakes...it's a little more contemporary and I like that I can have 2 larger sized photos.

I really like the 5x5 sized cards as well.  I don't see these as often but I think it's a great size!  I would love to have a great family picture to use in this card called With Love Ribbon Christmas Card!

 






















Once I get the picture (or pictures!!) I want to use, hopefully it will help me narrow down which card I choose.  I definitely won't have a problem finding a card...they are all beautiful and I can't go wrong with any of them!

getting behind on my blogging...

but she is so much fun now!



The daylight savings time threw us for a little loop but we're back on track now. I don't remember Sydney or Carter getting too messed up when they were little but she woke up at 5, 5:30 and 4 for the first three nights...UGH! We seem to be back on schedule now ;)

I pulled out some more baby toys for her to play with...Carter likes playing with them too! She really likes getting on the floor and rolling around. She wants to crawl really bad but lucky for me she hasn't figured it out yet!!! I am not ready for crawling yet!! She has a little jumper thing she likes to hang out in too.

I have a ton of pictures to get off my card but am too tired right now. I think daylight savings time messed me up too. I am ready to go to bed about 7 every night.

4 year old!

Finally got around to Carter's 4 year pictures...have some more ideas but this is all I've got for now!

Happy Halloween!

Well the costumes are well worn...we had Awana's Wednesday night, Carter's preschool costume parade Thursday, Halloween party at church Thursday night and Sydney had a girl scout Halloween party Friday night! Not to mention that Carter has worn his costume(s) around the house about every day this week! And now it's finally time to trick-or-treat!!







Carter has a stash of costumes that he loves to wear around the house. We've had a spiderman and batman costume from last year and this year I found a different looking batman at a yard sale for a buck. But after our Halloween party, we were in Walmart one day and Carter was begging for a pirate costume to be like daddy! Kevin already had the wig so I ended up getting it and he puts it on every chance he gets!

I took Sydney and Carter to church to trick or treat...Allie was ready for bed so Kevin stayed home with her. This is the first year we've had trick-or-treating at church and it wasn't what I was expecting. It was dark and the rooms were decorated with skeletons, strobe lights, spider webs, and scary looking people! Last year, Sydney would have DIED in there! But she has definitely come a long way...none of it scared her! Carter loved it too...none of it scares big tough men like Carter, ha!! We hit a few more houses on the way home then called it a night! It has definitely been a busy Halloween week! :)
