A new month!

I am so glad February is almost over!! The snow has been fun but it's seriously time to move on to some warmer weather! And I really can't wait for April to get here ;)

Mike & Laura stopped by today...they went to church with us then came over for lunch! They were on the way home from North Carolina and were coming right though Lynchburg so that worked out really good! The kids had a great time together...Carter pulled out the trusty Spiderman costume so he could "scare the girls!" ha ha!!

I see it, but I still don't believe it...

Yep...Carter cut his hair. Not long after we washed all that hair gel out from last week!!

And let me just state for the record that I was not home when the hair massacre occurred...it was on Kevin's time! ;)

I picked Sydney up from school and had just walked in the door. I started talking to Kevin when Carter walked up...about that time Kevin just gasped.

I looked at Carter (expecting a black eye or something) but didn't notice anything. Then I saw it. oh my gosh!!!!





It's a bit of a blur after that but Kevin and I just looked at each other with our jaws on the floor for a minute. Then I asked Carter to show me what he did..
You're not gonna be mad? he asked.
Just show me.

So he took my hand and led me to the bathroom and showed me the hair in the sink, in the trashcan and on the floor.
Why did you do that? I asked him.
My hair was too long.
I held him up to the mirror...do you think this looks good?
His lip poked out and he shook his head no.

We had a little talk after that.

A bit later I was telling him to please tell mama or daddy the next time he wanted a hair cut...Sydney piped in, "Yeah, cause you don't know what you're doing!!"

Carter took it upon himself to fix his hair the other day. He may have used a little too much "spiking glue".





His hair seriously felt like someone poured cement on it...twice.
Even the top of his forehead was caked with gel!!

I heard this conversation~
Kevin: Did Mama see your hair?
Carter: yes.
Kevin: what did she say?
Carter: she laughed at me!

The next day required a lot of shampoo and scrubbing!!

Busted...

The poor birds don't stand a chance around here...

Things I've heard...

Carter told me out of the blue today that when he got bigger he was gonna marry me and give me a kiss. What a little mama's boy!

Sydney and Carter have been calling their sister, "the little kicky baby" lately. She is really partying hard in my belly...always jabbing me in the side and making me jump! Sydney likes to put her hand on me and wait for her to kick!

Carter told Kevin that when he grows up he's gonna give him a John Deere tractor...then Sydney piped in that she would give him a John Deere lawn mower! Kevin likes the sound of that (but isn't holding his breath!)

Happy Valentines Day!

Sydney got her first rose today from a boy at church! Mr. Caleb took his own money and bought a rose for Sydney and another girl in their sunday school class. What a little ladies man!!

Sydney was quite proud!

Valentine Party...

Sydney finally went back to school (2 hrs late) today! She has been out all week because of the snow/ice! She only went 1 day last week too (2 hrs late), so it's been a laid back couple of weeks!

Today was her Valentine party so she was actually pretty excited to go! They had a cute little Valentine box hanging on the back of their chairs.

So we sat together and read her cards...all the kids were so excited!


Then they had a little snack and their teacher read a Valentine book. It took about 45 minutes and was really cute! I love going to her class!!

annnnnnd it's still snowing.....

yep, woke up today and the snow was still coming down!

It finally stopped around 1 and the sun actually came out!! We ventured out for a little work and play...

Carter shoveled a path for us...


Sydney and I watched him work!


The snow was soooo deep in some places! I don't really know how much we ended up with...it's a lot though!


Then it was time to play!!






Carter's cheeks get so red when he gets outside!


Then we did a little "extreme" sleigh riding. We made a bump in the path so they would fly up in the air! Carter loved it the other day but wasn't too interested today. Sydney had a blast!




Kevin just went right through it...


By the time we came inside we were all exhausted!! We should all sleep good tonight!

it's snowing again!

This is crazy...another weekend full of snow! We got about 10 inches last Saturday and they are calling for another 8-12 inches today through tomorrow. This never happens!

It snowed hard ALL day today...we didn't even go out. I'd rather wait until it stops. I have a feeling we'll have plenty of time to play in the snow!

Kevin stayed home from work today. I got some cleaning done around the house and baby clothes washed and put away. Kevin said I was nesting (ha ha!) Sydney and Carter played with their toys (they are all over the living room floor!) and watched some tv. We played some games and read books too. I actually enjoyed being at home watching it snow while working/playing!

Carter and I stopped by the library the other day and checked out Aladdin...they watched that while they ate lunch:

29 weeks

Wow...can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going! Had a doctor's appt. today. Everything looks great so far...blood pressure, weight, measurements & baby's heartbeat are all right on track. I got my blood sugar checked today and that looks good too! So now I start going to the dr. every 2 weeks!!!!

Sydney and Carter have been cracking me up lately. Here's a few comments I've heard recently:

Sydney:
-Wow, your belly is really big. Your baby must be as big as a dinosaur...or maybe an elephant!!
-How big is the baby now (while eyeing my belly)...she must be pretty big!
-I bet your baby is ready to come out...it's probably dark in there!

-Sydney picked out the name Ella for the baby a couple months ago. I actually liked that name but Kevin gave it a thumbs down. Then she decided on Lily, which I like too, but that didn't get approved either. ;)

We do have her name picked out but will probably wait until she's born to tell it. We do call her Lily for now (but they know that's not her "real" name).

Carter:
He hasn't had many comments but he did tell me the other day that my belly looks like it's gonna pop. And he suggested the name Sunday. (Nope, not it either!)


Luckily I don't take them too seriosuly or I might be in a deep depression!! ;)

No School...

No school today...and more snow/ice is on the way tomorrow so they will probably be out tomorrow too!

I pulled out a little project for Sydney to work on...suncatchers! She loves doing little artsy things ;)





She picked out a few to give away but we still have plenty hanging around here too! These are her favorites...the unicorn is hers and she gave me the cat (it has glitter on it)!



She and Carter had a good time playing tractors/Littlest Pet Shop too. Carter gave the animals tractor rides around the living room :)
