busy busy week!!

Wow...last week just flew by!! We had VBS every day from 9-12 which kept us busy! I don't think Sydney could have enjoyed herself any more...she looked forward to it every day and was always so happy!! Each class was 30 minutes long...the 3 & 4 year olds started with snacks then had music, recreation, crafts and bible study! I got a chance to watch her class a few times and they were so cute :)
I helped with the 3rd and 4th graders which was a lot of fun. They were a really great group of 12!!
Carter was sad to see me go the first few days in the nursery but by the end of the week he was fine! One day Sheila had some extra water balloons and Carter and Sydney got to throw them at each other!

On Friday night we had commencement and Sydney's class got up and sang 3 songs. They were so cute to watch and all did so well! Sydney has grown up a lot...last year she stood up there about 10 seconds before she saw the church full of people looking, then went and stood behind another kid (ha ha!). This was much entertaining!!

Vacation pictures!

Our vacation went by so quick and I'm finally finished going through all the pictures! We had such a great time...we spent a lot of time on the beach which was fun! I think Sydney & Carter would happily play there all day if we let them! They loved picking up shells, digging holes in the sand and playing in the water!

Barefoot Landing where Sydney and Carter loved feeding the nasty carp (ugh!)
Broadway at the Beach where Sydney made a new friend at Build-a-Bear and Carter drooled in the John Deere store!
Ripley's Aquarium
Nascar Speedway
Bass Pro shop for the guys ;)
and a trip to Phillips Seafood, of course!!

From Sydney's mouth...

Carter fell on Saturday and scraped his head outside. Although he didn't cry much, he has a lovely little scratch on his head. The three of us were in Wal-Mart the other day and Sydney was looking at Carter and she said "Mama, Carter's boo boo looks like a telephone!" And I had never noticed it but yes, it does look like a telephone! I laughed so hard at that one!! :)




Also, yesterday Sydney and Carter had been outside playing and Sydney says "Mama, can you fix me a cup of water, I'm sweatering!" I said "What did you say, sweatering?" and she says "Yes, I'm hot and sweatering and need some water!" Got it...she means sweating!! ha ha!

And one last funny thing...when we picked Emma up on Sunday from the vet she came running inside and barking. Since that was the first time we boarded her somewhere I have a feeling she barked all week. Needless to say, her voice is very scratchy and funny sounding! Kevin and I were talking and laughing about that saying that Emma was hoarse. A little later, Sydney says "Mama, why did Daddy call Emma a horse-dog?" I started laughing and tried to explain that if your throat hurts then you're hoarse. "But Emma's not a horse," Sydney told me! We left it at that...a few days later we talked about it again and she figured it out!

Ripley's Aquarium

While we were in Myrtle Beach we decided to go to Ripley's Aquarium for the first time. This was Carter's first time in an aquarium...he did very good! Sydney had a great time too...she loved standing in front of the huge tanks and just watching the fish and sharks swim by! We even saw fish that looked like Nemo and Dory...they got so excited about that! ha ha!! :)

Vacation is over :(

Well, vacation is over and we're back home :( Why did it have to go by so quick?? We had a great time though and Sydney and Carter absolutely LOVED the beach!! We went out one night to take some family pictures...here's a few of them!

So much to do...so little time!

Gosh, this week is gone already!! We leave for the beach Sunday and I don't have anything ready yet! :p
We went up to Smith Mtn. Lake Tuesday and spent the night. Kevin left Monday for a training class there and he was staying in a 2 bedroom condo overlooking the lake. So I packed everyone up and we headed up there to play for a couple days!! They had a really cool kiddie pool with a mushroom sprinkler and a fun playground too! Oh, and here's the view from our room:



This was a series of about 8 pictures that Photoshop stitched together for me ;) Pretty cool!!

So we get back Wednesday and that afternoon Carter woke up from his nap VERY HOT! He had a 102 temp. so off to the doctor today. He has strep throat. Just great.

Anyway, I have to get ready for the yard sale this weekend, buy groceries & pack for the beach and who knows what else by Saturday night. I'm tired already!
