i love this little face...

Sydney went back to school yesterday...during the morning announcements, they told that she was now a big sister! That made her smile! She wanted to take a picture to school too, so the night before we looked at all the pictures from the hospital. She wanted to see when the baby first "came out". I started at the beginning and showed her the first one Kevin took right when she was on my chest...Sydney was real quiet, then said, "she's kinda messy and blue?!" Then we went through the ones where they measured and weighed her and her first little bath. Sydney was very interested in all of them! She finally picked out two to take to school...one of her holding Allie and one of just Allie.

Last night went pretty well...we went to bed at 10pm and got up at 12, 3:45 and 7. When she wakes up I change her, feed her and we go back to sleep. We're up probably 45 min. to an hour each time. The night before I had trouble going back to sleep but not last night. You have to sleep fast around here! :)

I was sitting on the couch this morning and Carter came over and felt my feet. He said, "your feet are cold" and put a blanket over my legs. He patted me and said, "there, nice and comfortable!" So sweet!! Then he gave me his coloring book and told me I could color in it if I wanted to. Guess Carter will be taking good care of me when Kevin goes back to work next week!

I will get all the hospital details written down soon but just wanted to say it is so good to be home and so far she is doing great! She has been very laid back...she'll be awake for about 30-45 minutes just looking around then she'll eat and zonk out for hours! Repeat, repeat, repeat.

Last night we went to bed a little after 10 and she woke up a few times to eat then went right back on to sleep. I felt pretty good today but about 6pm I started getting really tired. So I'm waiting to tank her up one last time before we all go to bed!

Sydney and Carter keep watch over Allie all day long...I told her she was pretty popular! They follow her around and love any chance to hold her. When I change her diaper they are right there watching...they got a kick out of the poopy diapers I changed today!

Carter wanted to know if she could walk...I said, no, not yet. Then he said, well can she crawl? I said, no, she will when she gets a little older. Carter said, well we need to teach her how to do that! Then he was asking about her teeth and when she would get them so she could eat real food.

Sydney had her outfits all picked out today. She had a gown for her to wear last night then hung a little outfit on her closet door for her to wear today. Looks like she will be Allie's stylist. Sydney and I even washed her hair and brushed it to try to calm it down a little. It still gets a little out of control, but it's cute ;)

Ok, I'm tired...just wanted to get this written down while it's fresh in my mind.

40 weeks...

Hello, my sad little blog. It's been 2 long weeks but I have been busy with very important things like cleaning out all the closets in the house, organizing my freezer, washing the cutlery trays in the kitchen drawers, rearranging cabinets, vacuuming and doing all kinds of laundry. :) Nesting, or something like that, has hit full force.

Today is the big due date and *gasp*, still no signs of the little chick. I wish something would happen but I seem to be very consistent with having late babies. No worries...her eviction notice comes on Thursday when I go in to be induced. At my dr. appt. last Thursday, she tried to admit me Saturday or Sunday but those days were already booked. So I am trying to enjoy these last few days of being pregnant...

So here's the latest and greatest belly shot...taken Sunday:


Sydney and Carter are getting excited! Sydney asked if she could take the baby to school to show everyone. I told her she could probably take a picture of her and she said, "awwww man!" Carter has been talking to my belly...he told her to come out because we had toys for her to play with and diapers for her butt. ha ha!! Then he wanted to know if she laughed when she kicked me! I can't wait to see their reaction when they meet her!

First day of spring break...

No school this week for Sydney...I am glad because that means I can sleep in a little longer!! I felt really good today...got some cleaning and laundry done this morning then took the kiddos to Putt-Putt! It was really fun!!

Sydney looks like she's teeing off with that swing!!


She actually did pretty well for her first time playing. She had trouble if the hole was on a slope but some of the flat holes she got in 2 or 3 hits.


Carter liked playing too...


when all else fails, just throw the ball in the hole!




They each had a dollar to play a game inside...they both wanted to do the simulated rollar coaster ride. It was so funny watching them!


Next we hit up Dairy Queen for an ice cream cone!! It was getting pretty hot by that point!

To wind it up we went to the airport and watched a few planes come in...that's always a hit with them! Then it was time to call it a day...it was a good one!

Egg hunt...round two

This morning was the church egg hunt...
Carter is getting the hang of it now...gotta be quick to get more candy!!!


Sydney's class is fast...they cleaned up all the candy in just a couple minutes!!


Then the Easter bunny came for a visit..Carter looked up at him and said, "will you bring me something?"

Easter breakfast...

Sydney made a quick recovery...she woke up fine this morning and was ready to go to school. Her class was having an Easter breakfast and all the parents and siblings were invited!

While the parents were cooking breakfast, the kids were working on a Peter Rabbit coloring book.


It was quite a feast...they had pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, grapes, strawberries, pineapple and biscuits to eat!!



Sydney was excited for Carter and I to come visit...they had an egg hunt later that day and next week is SPRING BREAK!!! Sydney is so excited (and so am I)!!




Tonight we went to mom's for Easter dinner...Kevin and Carter took the John Deere out for a spin. Carter thinks he owns it...


Then we got in a few pictures...I wanted a picture of the 4 of us because soon there will be 5!!!

We hid some eggs for Sydney and Carter too...Maxx helped them check out their loot! Carter opened an egg from Sheila and it had a dollar inside...it was so funny, he pulled it out, looked at it and said "Awesome!!"

another year younger...

Well, it's finally April!! I was beginning to think this month would never get here!!

The first birthday to celebrate this month is Kevin's! Carter and I went to the dollar store earlier this week so he could pick out a few things for daddy. He got a bath sponge, flashlight, lighter and (my favorite) a spiderman watch!

After I picked Sydney up from school, I thought I'd take her to the dollar store and let her pick something out too. About halfway there, she started saying her belly hurt. So we made it there and I sent her to the bathroom hoping that would help. No such luck...she whined all through the store so we got a couple balloons and headed home.

She actually fell asleep in the car which is veeery unusual for her. So we got in the house and I tied the balloons up while Sydney went to lay on the couch. When I came in the living room she had grabbed her trash can and started to throw up. Lovely.

She felt better after that but layed around the rest of the day...she did get up for a bit and make Kevin a birthday card.


I had steaks marinating all day and we cooked them on the charcoal grill...soooo good!!

Carter helped Kevin blow out the candles...



Now just waiting to see when the next birthday (literally) this month will be... :)
