brrrrr...

Well, we were suppossed to get some snow yesterday but of course that didn't happen. We ended up with freezing rain all.day.long!! It was a cold, wet, mess!

Everything was totally iced over this morning...I went outside this morning but didn't stay long! I am a wimp in cold weather!

sick little man...

Carter decided to get sick on me yesterday afternoon. He'd been fine all morning but started throwing up around 5 or so. Then he went awhile longer and did it again...and again! Kevin finally got home around 6...he walked in the door and I said Hallelujah!! He looked at me like I was crazy! He didn't know what he was in for!

Anyway, Carter sat with him all night (with the trash can close by) and finally went to bed.


He slept all night and said he felt good the next morning! He didn't have an appetite but wanted something to drink. But that didn't stay down long...

Anyway, he feels good as long as he has only water to drink. He hasn't had a temperature either so I guess we'll see what happens...

walking the dogs...

Sydney and I took Emma and Maxx for a little walk today. She was so proud because she got to hold Maxx's leash! As soon as I opened the door, Maxx almost ripped her arm off when he saw Thomas the cat walking around.
Once we got his mind off the cat, things went much better. The dogs had been sleeping almost all day so they were pretty excited to be outside! We walked through the field and all around the yard.
We stopped for a quick picture and the dogs kept looking at something behind me...it was Thomas following up around! He must be pretty brave! So Maxx chased him one more time...hope he doesn't get any cat claws to the face while he's here :)

mamaw's house...

We went to visit mamaw today...it's been awhile since we've been to her house. They especially love the tall glasses of sunny delight she pours for them ;) Carter brought some matchbox cars with him and they had fun driving them all over the house! And then he pretended mamaw's leg was a horse or something and was bouncing up and down! She got a kick out of that!

This was the best face Carter could muster...guess he wasn't feeling the camera today! ha!


On the way home, Sydney said, "Mama, I can't wait to grow up big like you!"
I asked her what she was gonna do when she was grew up. She thought for a minute and said "hmmmm, I'd like to cook!"
I told her that she already got to help me cook some and asked her what else she would do when she grew up.
"Play with Carter!" was her next answer!
"Well, you already do that too! You might as well just stay little, right?" I asked.
"Hmmm, yeah, I guess" she said.

Good thing...she's getting too big as it is!!

oh, but there's more. Two camels a bear and bassett hound are carefully tucked between her pillows!


And here's Carter patiently waiting for daddy to tell him goodnight! He sleeps with his trusty blanket. His bear, Sam, is usually close by, but not a necessity ;)

beagle in the bathtub...

So, Emma has been pretty stinky the past few days. Tonight was the last straw...I was sitting on the couch and she was on the floor beside me. I just kept smelling her and couldn't take it anymore!

We usually take her in the garage for a bath because there's a deep sink down there. But I'm cold enough as it is...no way I'm going down there. So she got to get in the bathtub tonight...but she was not impressed!



Sydney and Carter thought this was hilarious...and wanted to help of course!

getting out of the funk...

ok, it's time to start keeping this updated. January is always such a funky month. Cold and gray and just blah. And the 10 degree weather this weekend didn't help. Anyway...

Carter started complaining about his eye on Thursday afternoon. By that night it was getting gross...running, goopy and a little red. So Friday I called the dr. and he called in a prescription for eye drops (assuming it was pinkeye). Carter was eager to put in the drops when we told him it would make his eye feel better. He laughed and said they tickled! We're still putting them in but he's not as cooperative ;)

I took him outside today for a few pictures. Everything is so ugly and brown but oh well...it's winter! It was pretty chilly with the wind blowing he was happy to be outside! I think he needed some fresh air about as much as I did!

new hairdo...

Sydney is sportin' a new haircut these days. I think it looks so much better short!

We got a note home from preschool today that said next Thursday is slipper day. "We will be watching a movie and having a snack while wearing our slippers!" Sydney's gonna LOVE that! :)




Not too much going on lately...I'm getting tired of this cold weather without any snow. If it's gonna be cold, we might as well have something falling out of the sky. It puts me in a camera funk too...hopefully I'll get some motivation soon!

ridin' around...

Sydney went back to school today after a 2 week break. She was excited to go but it was hard getting her up this morning since it was so rainy, dark and cold!

When we got home this afternoon, Sydney and Carter went downstairs to play. When Kevin was off last week we finally got the basement pretty clean and organized! They like having somewhere different to play so they can practice their stunt riding...


"No, I am not embarrassed to ride a pink tricycle!"

hmmmm....

Found this little surprise in the fridge tonight...Sydney had no idea what happened to the pudding...

but she finally admitted she had a little taste before dinner, "but not much!"

It felt pretty good outside today so Sydney and I ventured out for a little bit while Carter was sleeping. She even let me snap a few pictures! I gave her a dollar, so I'm sure that might have had something to do with her cooperation :) It was worth it!

counting down to '09...

Andy and Terri came over last night for new years...we munched on Chick-fil-a and watched the kids run around like crazy!

Carter and Judson pretended to play Xbox...


And Sydney and Haisten ran about a thousand laps around the house. They played with about every toy we own too ;)


After they left, we attempted to stay awake until midnight. Carter started crying in his bed and Kevin went to check on him (and I think fell asleep in there!). I started watching the news and got sooooo sleepy! So I woke up about 11:55 (so did Kevin) and we watched the ball drop. I guess we cheated a little, but made it to midnight :)
