dinner & a movie...

we went over to andy & terri's tonight for dinner. they fixed steak for kevin's b-day next week...yum-o! :) sydney, carter & haisten had fun playing outside before we ate. then they settled in to watch the lion king-i think haisten knows it by heart! carter was really interested in judson tonight! he kept grinning and laughing around him and was interested in the buttons on his outfit too!

A trip down memory lane...

Tonight we went over to the other house to check on things and get the lawn mower. Sydney and Carter had fun playing on the deck and in the yard. It's weird because it seems like forever ago that we lived there but we've only been gone a few months. Sydney wanted to go swing before we left and it was kinda sad because the straps don't even fit over her shoulders anymore :( She's growing up too fast! We might have adjusted them a little for Carter when he last used it (as big as he is, I doubt we shortened them much though!) Carter was too busy playing in the yard to swing tonight.

Happy Easter!

Sydney was so excited to wear her Easter dress this morning...every Sunday for the past few weeks she's asked if it's Easter so she could put on her new dress :) She even told Carter this morning that he looked cute! ha ha!
It was a busy day...Sydney and Carter were excited to find their easter baskets this morning. Their big gifts were the movie Ratatouille for Sydney and a John Deere easter set for Carter. They played some this morning and then we went to church. We came home so Carter could take a nap and then Mom and Dad stopped by this afternoon with easter goodies! Tonight we went to Homer & Shirley's for an egg hunt and dinner! Whew...after all that we were pooped!

Another egg hunt...

This time at church! Each class went one at a time so we could watch everyone. Carter's class was the first to go and he happily walked around picking up eggs and candy to put in his basket! When Sydney's class got ready, he plopped down in the grass to check out his eggs! Sydney got lots of eggs and candy too!
They were excited when this guy came outside!


After that, it was time to go inside and eat lunch. We found out the "prize egg" was actually a piece of candy with a christmas sticker on it. Carter won for his class and got a new ball! He got all excited and said "Ball!" It was a hit!

We were walking around outside tonight (it was cooooold) and as the sun was going down I got Kevin and Carter to stop for a minute so I could try and get this picture. It took 3 tries and I finally got it right...I love it!

A hunting we will go...

Easter egg hunting that is...we had our first egg hunt at the library today! Sydney and Carter had so much fun! I told Sydney to pick up as many eggs as she could find because they had CANDY in them! And she stopped about halfway through the egg hunt looking in her eggs to see what kind of candy she had (ha ha!)

Carter did pretty good for his first egg hunt! He wasn't as fast as the older kids, but in their rush they left a lot of eggs behind for him! He finally caught up to them and he had just as many eggs as Sydney!

Once we got back inside, Carolyn told everyone to look in their baskets for a polka dotted egg. Sydney was the lucky one to get it and won a singing Easter bunny! They have both had a good time playing with him! It turned out to be a great day!

Sydney and Thomas

Sydney has found a new friend in our cat Thomas. When we moved here, Thomas was kinda left behind by his owners (they took several other cats but could never manage to get him.) So he has a new family now and I don't think he could have found anyone better than Sydney. Since we have lived here, she has remembered to feed him *every*single*day! She looks forward to that every morning! And when he sees her come to the door, he literally starts to drool! It is the funniest thing! Whenever we go outside, he is never far behind.

The other day Sydney and I were outside walking around and when she sat down, Thomas came and layed right beside her! It was so cute! :)

I love yard sales (and clearance racks!) :)

Well, the warmer weather puts me in the mood to pull out the spring and summer clothes packed away for Sydney (and Carter). Today I went through Sydney's tote and hit the jackpot! I forgot about all the dresses I got at the end of last summer when they were on major clearance! And the cute little shirts for summer! A lot of these were found at yard sales last year too...ohhh, please let it warm up quick! Believe it or not Sydney tried on most of these clothes and there were only 2 things that didn't fit. Not bad at all!

Bedroom Makeovers

We finally got Sydney and Carter's room in pretty decent shape! They aren't 100% finished but we're getting close! Sydney's bed is a total hangout spot for us...we always end up in there looking at books or just playing around. She loves her room! This is what it looked like after we moved...we still hadn't got her new bed or dresser yet:

I have a gallon of brown paint and I want to paint a stripe around the middle of his room. Maybe one of these days... :)

Easter preview

After Carter went to sleep this afternoon Sydney wanted to put on her Easter dress. I said go right ahead...of course I had pictures in mind :) So we both got what we wanted! She wore her dress the rest of the afternoon and when we were getting ready for supper she wanted to go change so she wouldn't get it dirty! She's such a girly girl!

Once Carter woke up I figured I would be fair and take some of him too! Seeing him in that sweater vest just puts a smile on my face...he is so funny!

Just testing this out...

Funny story about Carter today- we were at storytime this morning and right as we were finishing up, Carter noticed the radio sitting on the floor. (There is usually a kid's cd playing when we arrive.) Well, Carter marches right over to that radio, turns it on and starts bobbing his head up and down to the music. He is always doing that at home with our clock radio too...he loves music, that's for sure! :)
